Since now vehicles with wheels where send to mars to study it, but scientists say that this Snake robot can give better results than the conventional wheel robots.
If this Snake robot is attached to other large robots which can travel long distances, then this snake robot can be used to study the properties of the places where that large robot could not reach.
The scope of this snake robot is being examined by the scientists of The foundation for scientific and Industrial Research’ (SINTEF). They also have designed a prototype of a snake Robot.

Since now four vehicle sent by NASA has studied the mars atmosphere. Sojourner (1997), Spirit and opportunity (2003), Curiosity (2012).
All those robotic vehicles were having six wheels , cameras and robotic arms. The robotic arms took soil and rock from the mars surface and examined them. But these type of vehicles have their limit to travel in the surface of mars. Whereas the European scientists believe that the snake robot can reach every corner of mars and thus can give a much better result.
